Liver is main organ of human body. today we will discuss what are main function of liver? what are symptoms of poor liver function? What does fibrosis of the liver mean? what are the main causes of cirrhosis of the liver & how do i make my liver healthy again?

           

WHAT IS LIVER ? 

1- The liver is the largest permanent organ in the human body. It removes waste products from the blood in the body, food, for healthy blood sugar levels, it helps the blood to clot, and carries out hundreds of other functions. It is located just below the chest in the upper-right part of the abdomen. 

2-  This is a wedge-shaped organ located below the chest. It weighs about 3 kg, and it is the most major part of the body. The liver performs many important functions. It purifies the blood circulation, which destroys some of the chemical compounds in the blood, and produces the (synthesized), and others.

• The liver is filtering the blood in the body, breaks down toxic substances, such as alcohol and drug abuse.

• The liver produces bile, a fluid that aids in the digestion of fats, and carry away waste products. 

• The liver is divided into four parts, each consisting of eight episodes, and in the thousands of slices (or a little). 

 ROLE OF THE LIVER:

The liver is an essential organ of the body that performs over 500 vital functions. These include removing waste products and foreign substances from the bloodstream, regulating blood sugar levels, and creating essential nutrients. Here are some of its most important functions.

• Albumin Production

 Albumin is a protein that keeps fluids in the bloodstream from leaking into surrounding tissue. It also carries hormones, vitamins, and enzymes through the body.

• Bile Production: 

Bile is a fluid that is critical to the digestion and absorption of fats in the small intestine.

• Filters Blood: 

All the blood leaving the stomach and intestines passes through the liver, which removes toxins, byproducts, and other harmful substances.

• Regulates Amino Acids:

 The production of proteins depend on amino acids. The liver makes sure amino acid levels in the bloodstream remain healthy.

• Regulates Blood Clotting:

 Blood clotting coagulants are created using vitamin K, which can only be absorbed with the help of bile, a fluid the liver produces.

• Resists Infections:

 As part of the filtering process, the liver also removes bacteria from the bloodstream. 

• Stores Vitamins and Minerals: 

The liver stores significant amounts of vitamins A, D, E, K, and B12, as well as iron and copper.

• Processes Glucose:

 The liver removes excess glucose (sugar) from the bloodstream and stores it as glycogen. As needed, it can convert glycogen back into glucose.

• With the eyes and skin, which are shown in yellow (jaundice)

• Abdominal pain and swelling 

• Swelling of the legs and ankles 

• Itchy skin 

• The dark color of the urine

• The pale color of the chair

• Chronic fatigue

• Nausea or vomiting

 Loss of appetite

• The tendency is to make the light-blue areas 

WHAT IS LIVER FIBROSIS:

The normal liver is smooth and firm to the touch. As

liver disease progresses, changes occur and damage to the liver increases. e.g. fibrosis.

After becoming inflamed, the liver tries to repair itself by farming tiny scars. This scarring called ,fibrosis.

makes liver difficult to do its work. As damage continuous, many scars form and begin to join together, leading to the next stage,

WHAT IS LIVER CIRRHOSIS?

With repeated damage, large areas of the liver can become permanently scarred liver tissues. The liver begins to shrink and becomes hard. Chronic viral Hepatitis is a common cause of cirrhosis of liver 

 is excessive drinking.

                                             

  LIVER FAILURE:

As cirrhosis worseness, most liver function is lost. This means the liver is unable to filter wastes, toxins and drugs from the blood. It can no longer produce the clotting factors necessary to stop bleeding .Fluids build up in the abdomen and legs, bleeding in the intestines is common, At this point,

a liver transplant is the only option.

LIVER CANCER:

Sometimes damage liver cells includes the genes inside cells in a way that cause to become cancerous,

Patients with chronic hepatitis B, and C, are at high risk for hepatocellular carcinoma, a type of liver tumor.

PRECAUTION LIVER DAMAGE:

The best way to prevent liver disease, active steps towards a healthy way of life. Here are a few tips to help you achieve your liver is working normally:: 

1- Avoid drugs: the drugs are the substances that the liver must     filter out.

2- Taking any of these medicines, it may lead to damage in the   long run.

3- Drink alcohol in moderation: Alcohol needs to be broken   down in the liver. While the liver can be reduced, and excessive alcohol consumption can lead to injury.

 
4- Regular exercise will help you to enhance the overall health of   the individual organs, including the liver.

5- Eating a healthy diet,

6- Excessive intake of fat, inhibit the function of the liver and   lead to fatty liver disease. 

7- Vaccination, in particular, during the traveling, and the   necessary vaccination against hepatitis A and b, as well as
 diseases such as malaria and yellow fever, which is growing in       the liver.

8- At some initial stages, liver damage can be stopped and treated. For patients with viral hepatitis, it is important to prevent greater damage to liver that would make cirrhosis even worse. avoid alcohol

stopped immediately,

 

9- Do not combine alcohol and acetaminophen because when  taken together they can cause a condition called fulminant hepatitis, which can lead to fatal liver failure, clearly, you should strictly follow your doctor instruction about present and future medications and balance diet.
